Description Of WorkThe major purpose of this position is to process the usage orders for the correctional units and affiliates. This constitutes releasing orders to print the pick tickets (usage orders) for delivery of the commodities and entering them into or inventory control system. Also,
this position will handle all orders from other agencies that are not correctional units and prepare the delivery tickets for those orders. This task is performed by this position sixty-five percent of the time. This position will also complete the Weekly Processing Reports, Outside Sales Reports, Monthly Price Lists, all records for these tasks will be the responsibility of this position. Also, this position will be responsible for answering all incoming calls to the plant on a multi-line telephone. These tasks are performed about ten percent of the time. This position will communicate throughout the day with the Administrative Specialist II (Office Manager) #60077041 concerning usage orders and other data entry problems and discrepancies. This position will directly support and be supervised by the Administrative Specialist II Position No. 600770041. The Administrative Specialist II may request this position to perform other tasks as needed. The Manager and Assistant manager may request task to be performed by this position and may request the completion of special projects.
In the absence of the Administrative Specialist II this position may be asked to place requisitions and receipt goods in the E-Procurement system as well as complete the inmate time entry. This position mainly performs data entry of tasks that are repetitious in nature. Sudden changes in the work environment are not frequent for this employee. Practically every task performed by this employee is governed by the Department of Adult Corrections Policies and Procedures. Any adjustment or change must be in conjunction with policy and procedures. In some instances, internal or state auditors will analyze specific tasks and make helpful suggestions as to how to do the task more efficiently. These occasions do cause adjustments but do not conflict with policy and procedure.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits . Work Hours - Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 4:00 pmNote To Current State EmployeesState employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

- Documented work experience utilizing Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Access.
- Documented knowledge of office equipment (copier, printer, scanner, etc.).
- Documented knowledge of a multiline phone systems.
- Documented work experience in inventory control.
- Documented work experience preparing fiscal reports and analysis of inventory discrepancies.
Management Preferences
- Experience applying laws and regulations governing the maintenance of financial records.
- Knowledge of government accounting methods and procedures.

- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

DAC uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act with the most qualified individuals. Hiring salary will be based on relevant qualifications, internal equity, and budgetary considerations pertinent to the advertised position.
