Both parties refused to divulge any information concerning the status of the negotiations.

When queried about the possibility of a strike, the teachers replied, "No comment," but added that "all avenues are being explored." No further negotiation sessions were reported scheduled. The teachers, who have been working without a contract since school began August 31, said they are willing to meet with the board at any time. Negotiating teams of both groups have manned the bargaining table since negotiations began in November, 1975. Representing the school board in the contract talks are Robert Stauffer, Lee Remley and Herbert Fritz. The BAEA is represented by Eugene Koehler, chief negotiator; Dean Kile, president; Beverly Smith, and Hubert Kline.

The Dow Jones average. of 30 industrial stocks, up 3 points after the first hour, was down 5.07 at 983.29 by the close of the New York Stock Exchange. Losers outnumbered gainers by about an 8-7 margin among NYSElisted issues after trailing by as much as 3 to 2 in the early going.

Big Board volume came to 16.10 million shares, down from 16.93 million Friday. Brokers said the early gains reflected a carryover of buying from late Friday, when the Dow advanced 1.49 points. But support for the upswing dwindled as the hours ticked by toward a United Auto Workers strike deadline of midnight Tuesday in the union's contract negotiations with Ford Motor. The most recent reports from the contract talks said chances did not appear good for a settlement before the deadline. Ford Motor shares held steady Monday.

The NYSE's composite index of all its listed common stocks was down .16 at 55.70. The chief contributor to the Dow's decline was Eastman Kodak, which fell more than 2 points and established a new low for the year. Last week the company announced postponement of the introduction of a higher-priced instant camera, and Japan's Fuji Photo was reported to have gotten a possible competitive jump on Kodak with a color film usable without a flash under most conditions. On the America Stock Exchange, the market value index lost .39 to 102.64. The NASDAQ composite index for the over-the-counter market slipped .23 to 90.96.

Board of Trade CHICAGO (AP) Farm commodity futures fell over a broad front on the nation's major exchanges Monday, led by a limit decline of soybeans futures. Soybeans closed 20 cents a bushel lower for the day, while soybean meal was down $8 a ton and soy oil more than 50 points, or cent a pound. Both meal and oil had declined to allowable daily limits earlier in the day, then closed a shade higher. Wheat futures fell 13 cents a bushel and corn was down the final bell. Oats were down cents.

The major factor in liquidation of soybean and grain futures was the Agriculture Department crop report issued after last Friday's close. The department stated that, as of Sept. 1, it expected a corn crop of 5.892 billion bushels of soybeans and a record wheat crop of 2.139 billion bushels. The wheat figures were accepted by the trade and liquidation was the prime activity in the pit with few. buyers.

Oats appeared to move with corn, but trade also was very slow. SMART MOVE! At the close, soybeans were down 20, cents a bushel, September 7.08R; wheat lost 13, September 3.09½; corn was to lower, September 2.94½/; and oats declined to September 1.63¾. 2 New York eggs NEW YORK (API-(USDA) -Wholesale egg offerings Wholesale selling prices based on volume sales.
